Supplied by Amethyst Horticulture, these consisted of:

• 57 double cubes each containing 250 plants
• 19 three tiered planters
• 27 baskets over railings
• 14 pole baskets

We also supplied, installed and maintained beautiful hanging baskets for BID businesses, including Subway, Ocean Bells, Citiparks, Bottrills and intu Watford.

Service Excellence Awards

In February 2017, 15 town centre businesses that provide excellent service to their customers won a Watford BID Service Excellence Award. 340 business representatives attended our awards ceremony at the Watford Colosseum. An excellent employee award was also won by Matt Caylor from Jury’s Inn.

Watford Weekender

During our Watford Weekenders, we bring local businesses together to collectively promote Watford town centre as a great destination for shopping, dining out, leisure and business. BID businesses are encouraged to run special offers, discounts and events. All of which are promoted on our dedicated website www.watfordforyou.org/weekender and listed in our Watford Weekender brochure which is distributed to Watford households and by on-street PR teams.

Our May 2017 Weekender saw over 60 businesses take part, including a 50% off parking offer, as well as great food deals in many of our cafés, restaurants and sandwich shops, plus discounts in bars, clubs and pubs. Many of the town’s big brand retailers, including John Lewis, Sainsbury’s and Marks & Spencer, as well as its smaller independents, have exclusive in-store offers or events.

Watford BID took over the Watford Business Against Crime (WBAC) scheme in April 2017, after it previously sat under the Watford & West Herts Chamber of Commerce. It’s an information sharing scheme which aims to reduce retail crime and anti-social behaviour throughout Watford town centre.
