Christmas at Watford Colosseum

The program of festive events at Watford Colosseum grows bigger and better every year. For 2019 there is something for everyone, whether you are travelling to the Colosseum by road, rail, sleigh, Ruby Slippers or flying Snowman!

For families the Colosseum will be hosting Santa Claus and The Night Before Christmas, throughout December. Not only will you be whisked on a theatrical adventure with songs and stories, there will be chance to meet Santa at the end of the show, this introduction to theatre in a relaxed setting is perfect for little ones. On 18 December the eternally popular The Snowman returns, in an immersive orchestral experience, not to be missed! The screening is preceded by an introduction to the instruments by Orpheus Sinfonia, and for 2019 will include some 'festive favourites', plus the chance to meet a special snowy friend after the show!

The Colosseum are inviting everyone to their annual Rudolph Rave on 15 December. With a DJ on the decks, gallons of glitter, a spectacular laser-light display and a licensed bar for the big kids, this family-friendly party afternoon will make Christmas 2019 truly unforgettable! For the adults who love a Disco vibe, don’t miss Boney M and Odyssey on 22 December, expect a timely performance of Mary’s Boy Child in this Christmas disco spectacular!

For music lovers Watford Philharmonic Society invite you to join in their annual family celebration of Christmas, with music to get the festive season going with a bang (10 December)! And for film lovers The London Film Music Orchestra perform A Christmas Fantasy highlighting popular music from Frozen, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas and many more(17 December)!

On 23 and 24 December join Ballet Theatre UK as they follow the yellow brick road and discover all the wonders of Oz. The Wizard of Oz is a two act, full-length, ballet adaptation of the iconic tale by L. Frank Baum, told through the magic of dance. Set to a classical score which brings the story to life, this production is family friendly and is the perfect way to introduce children to the classical ballet. The production is presented with beautiful backdrops, stunning theatrical sets and costumes evoking the iconic sketches by W.W. Denslow, from the original publication.

If you’re looking for an evening of music and laughter, don’t miss Rick Wakeman’s The Grumpy Old Christmas Show (7 December). The Colosseum will also welcome Adam Kay, who’s new show; Twas The Nightshift Before Christmas (9 December), is a love letter to all those who spend their festive season on the front line, removing babies and baubles from the various places they get stuck, at the most wonderful time of the year.

Celebrate the season in style, and gather a group of family, friends or work colleagues and dance the night away at one of the amazing Colosseum Christmas Party nights! They’ll provide all the glitz, glamour and fun needed to make this a spectacular celebration you won’t forget! For 80s loving sassy Santa’s Christmas Tropicana Night returns on 14 December, a party night guaranteed to have you Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree!

And once December is through, see in the New Year at the Colosseum with the Party of the Decade! Another chance to gather your nearest and dearest, and let Watford Colosseum show you the ultimate New Year’s Eve party night!
