Watford BID’s farewell to floral displays

It’s time to say goodbye to the flower displays that have brightened up Watford town centre this summer.

The high quality, eye catching floral sculptures, produced by Amethyst Horticulture, were installed the length of the High Street, from the Civic area at the top of the town all the way down to the Lower High street. They comprised a total of 54 floral cubes, 19 three-tiered planters, 27 baskets over railing and 16 hanging baskets, in place on the lampposts in Queens Road.

Jonathan Field, Chair of Watford BID said: “The intention behind the floral displays was to brighten up the town centre and they certainly did that, but now the cold nights are upon us it’s time to bid them farewell. We had so much positive feedback and will certainly be keen to repeat with similar displays next Summer.”

The floral displays project is just part of the work Watford BID is doing to enhance the look and feel of the town centre. The next project will be the installation of Christmas lights in early November, working with Watford Borough Council.
