Call for businesses to volunteer at Watford Citizens Advice Bureau

At Citizens Advice Watford, volunteers are central to the work we do helping clients. Last year, they worked with around 5000 people in the local community, helping them resolve issues such as housing and homelessness, debt and money problems, employment, welfare benefits, family and consumer problems. But with more volunteers, they could help even more people.

Could you spare some of your time on a regular basis to help people in your local community? The life enhancing effects of volunteering are well documented, and we have various opportunities available.

Volunteer advisers are highly trained to deliver the in-depth advice many of our clients need. The variety and complexity of the problems we deal with demands that advisers undertake extensive and rigorous training, so this role would suit someone looking for a long term volunteering role.

Gateway Assessors make an initial diagnostic assessment of a client’s situation, referring the more complex enquiries to advisers, and providing information to people with more straightforward issues.

We also rely heavily on our volunteer administrators and receptionists, without whom the service could not function.
